My Take on Telugu Music

Its been a long time since i’ve written in my blog...what to say, the more i want to do stuff i want. the more i get dragged into my work...its been crazy for the past week and will be for the next month, but what to do i can’t neglect it coz thats what’s putting the food on the table...but what i realized was that, though this job may not be my future i have to give it my best...i just cant leave it..not caring to put that extra effort..coz i promised myself to follow a simple rule of how i want to live my life..
”Anything you do, give it ur best shot”
Anyways one good thing abt working long hours is i get to listen to music more, explore new stuff, new artists, new genres...its amazing, the one very interesting find is Timo Maas, a german DJ and gives some different kind of trance music than mainstream...the other day i was speaking to my friend abt bollywood/tollywood music and here is what i really feel abt that.
I’ve got one word “JUNK”, i cannot believe that people actually listen to such junk..well ok bollywood sometimes gives good music, notable ones are from SEY and.....thats it i cant name anyone else....Abt tollywood dont even get me started...what is wrong..and why do telugu people have such bad tastes...did u even hear to the recent ones ..ok let me take jalsa for example..i thought devi sri prasad was one of the ....no the ONLY decent MD left in the telugu industry but what crap..why do u have to make the beats so harsh, and the songs have zero melody in them..atleast not even a decent hook for the song...and when i hear people saying that the songs are awesome i just cant take it..i feel sorry for them...i mean look at tamil music..atleast those guys got some good music sense man...The only notable good music in the past say 10 years from the telugu industry is happy days...ya u might say all songs seems to be the same, but judge each song individually and then u’ll see, things which i liked are
1. Simple clean crisp beats
2. Good melody with good vocals
3. Clean chorus
Its as if the MD had intentionally kept it clean without using much technology and instruments, nothing was overdone as it seems to be the general norm in the telugu industry, and hence it rates at the top in my list.
I’ll tell u this story abt how i realized telugu people have bad tastes...i was in my +1 and then that chiru’s movie....i forgot the name..anyways in that there is a song..’raama chilakamma’ and there was so much hype and excitment over this song...so i borrowed a cassette to check it out and was so dissapointed...what the hell..there is absolutely nothing special abt that song...ok got an average melody but thats it...so by this experience i learnt abt myself more and realized abt wht the general definition of good music is...
Finally i seem to wonder, is this the same great land that gave birth to great composers as Thyagaraju, annamayaa and all the others...coz it definitely doesn’t seem to be....now what we are offered are overdone, rotten, loud, no melody tunes from mani sharma and devi.
Well u did it to urself Andhra, so deal with it
